As part of the Serayu train service, Serayu Malam serves passengers leaving from Purwokerto or Jakarta in the evening. The route between Purwokerto and Jakarta spans an average of 442 km and 10 and a half hours, with trains running twice a day - once in the morning and once in the evening. Serayu trains started operating on its current route in 2013, but have existed in various forms since the 1950s. The train itself only serves economy class passengers, but has a multitude of facilities which includes a dining car where passengers can buy food and drink throughout their journey and time onboard. The train stops at Kiaracondong Station in Bandung, making it a popular choice for passengers from Jakarta heading towards Bandung.
