I highly recommend this hotel. This hotel is in a great location for easy transportation around tokyo. Jr stations and the subway are a fiveminute walk away. It overlooks the river where you can board boats for river trips. There are restaurants serving traditional cuisine within a short distance, but the hotel restaurant is elegant and serves good food. The breakfast is good and the rooms are comfortable.

The environment is excellent. I particularly enjoy the terrace upstairs and the restaurant on the second floor with views of the river. The convenience of transportation, Jr. Is very close, as is the sumo.

This hotel was fantastic. The only small issue is that it isnt centrally located toanything to do in tokyo, but that was actually a plus for us. There are two train stations just a few minutes away on foot that take you directly into all the key spots in tokyo. There are quite a few restaurants nearby, a McDonalds if youre feeling lazy, and a great bakery for breakfast. The hotel was very clean, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. There is a rooftop bar with amazing views including the skytree, which was never very crowded. Our room was a river view room on the fifth floor. We didnt realize when booking the room that the fifth floor is just slightly above the elevated highway outside, but honestly there was almost no noise from it. When we first woke up in the morning, we could hear the faintest sound of cars, but it was so small that it took us a few minutes to find out what the sound was. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel for its quiet, out of the way location, great staff, and cleanliness.

Lokasinya sangat nyaman tepat di depan Ryogoku Kokugikan. Stafnya sangat responsif, kamarnya luas, tempat tidurnya nyaman, bathtub dan toiletnya luas dan bersih, dan saya sangat puas bisa menghabiskan waktu dengan santai dan nyaman sambil minum kopi yang nikmat dari pembuat kopi.

The room is small, but the layout is very comfortable and clean. The deep bathtub is great. But what impressed me the most was the view on the top floor terrace bar. The hotel is 2 minutes walk from the nearby train station and directly above river boat cruises company. The night view on the river cruise was unbelievable. The only complaint i have is that the wall is a bit thin. I could hear guests doing their nightly activities next door, which i didnt have to hear.

Kamarnya nyaman tapi berisik karena jalan tol berjarak 10 meter. Kekurangan dari hotel ini adalah sarapannya yang tidak layak bintang 4, tidak banyak ruang sehingga ada antrian untuk mendapatkannya dan sedikit pilihan. Jujur saya banyak menggunakan hotel bintang 4, pertama kali saya melihatnya. Sayang sekali karena staf berusaha keras untuk membuat masa menginap Anda menyenangkan.

Highly recommended if you want a quiet place away from the main city but right next to the train station so you can get anywhere. Everyone there was very helpful. The only thing I’d say is my room was quite dusty but that was taken care of on request. I’d like to see a bit more attention to detail but the rest of my stay was great. I will let anyone who likes soft beds, be prepared for a traditional Japan firmness aka the ground. I’d recommend. You also should get the breakfast as each day it’s made fresh and really good.

I had a great stay at the hotel. The receptionist were all very nice and helpful. I arrived at the hotel in the morning and left my suitcases at the hotel and when I arrived in the afternoon for check in, my suitcases were waiting for me at the room already.

Great location, it's just minutes of walk away from JR station, easy access to kombini, local restaurants, and just one station away from major shopping area and supermarket. The hotel itself is great, it's new and clean, with comfortable beds and modern interior design. Staff are great, they had no problem with English. The only thing that I would like to see is self-serve laundry. That would make our 5 night stay much better.

Our new favorite hotel to stay in Tokyo. The location is prefect right next to the train station, food, sumo venue and the beautiful river. The room/suite was incredibly quiet and spacious. Our room faced the river with panoramic views. The staff were friendly and polite! The restaurant (anchor) delicious. I recommend the scallops and mushroom dish. We will definitely be back! Highly recommended booking here!!

The hoteliers are all hospitable and tidy. A convenience shop and a sobu line are located just two minutes away from the lodging. The neighborhood is peaceful, its in front of the Sumida river, making it a great place to go for a walk. You can go up to the terrace at night to take in the night view.

The hotel is a short 7minute walk from the nonjr station and a shorter walk from the jr one. Ryogoku is about 4-5 stations from Tokyo station, Ginza, and ueno areas and is convenient to reach from both stations. For the price, this area and room size are worth it (24m 2! The neighborhood is not noisy. The river along the hotel is really peaceful and scenic. There is an ice machine outside the room.

Our second time staying at The Gate Hotel Ryogoku. Very peaceful area, but within a short train ride or walk to plenty of interesting sites. Very close to the JR station. Spacious and Clean rooms with a large bathroom and a great view of the Sumida River.
