Pertama kali menginap di sini sangat berkesan karena ini adalah pertama kalinya saya menginap di hotel tapi tidak bisa tidur. Kondisinya lumayan terasa nuansa "bekas" mewahnya meskipun agak kurang terawat. Kamarnya sendirian tapi suasananya sangat ramai, sampai hordengnya buka-tutup sendiri padahal hordeng manual dan tidak ada remotenya, dan banyak kejadian "menyenangkan" lainnya. Luar biasa.

Saran saya, ketika Anda sampai di lokasi, periksa dulu kamar yang akan Anda tempati, bicarakan dengan teman atau saudara yang akan menginap bersama (terutama jika Anda akan menginap sendirian). Jika dirasa masih dalam toleransi, silakan check-in, jika tidak bisa dipertimbangkan untuk mencari hotel lain jika keuangan Anda mencukupi. Tidak ada sarapan pagi, mungkin hotel ini bagus dan benar-benar bintang 3 pada masanya, tetapi sekarang tidak.

Hotel ini cukup besar, mungkin ini satu-satunya hotel yang masih bertahan dan tetap eksis sejak zaman Prabu Siliwangi. Tempat lampunya banyak, tapi tidak ada bohlamnya jika lampu utama mati, gelap gulita. Cocok untuk uji nyali, meditasi, dan mencari wangsit. Foto-foto yang diambil di aplikasi online terlihat bersih dan rapi, namun mungkin diambil foto saat Raden Ki Santang masih bayi. Nama hotel ini ISTANA Bandung, sesuai dengan namanya, ISTANA mungkin istana yang berdiri dari jaman Kerajaan Pajajaran.
