Virgin Australia Airlines Pty Ltd, or commonly referred to as Virgin Australia, is one of the largest airlines in Australia and is the largest airline by fleet size. Virgin Australia began operations on 31 August 2000 as Virgin Blue, with two aircraft on one single route. The airline's golden period was also affected due to the collapse of the Australian Ansett airline. Since then, the airline has grown to serve 42 cities in Australia, from hubs in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney.
Virgin Australia is based in Bowen Hills, Brisbane, Queensland. Virgin Group was founded by British businessman Richard Branson and former CEO, Brett Godfrey. In 2011, the airline made a significant transformation by changing its name to Virgin Australia. These changes include the introduction of new aircraft livery, new uniforms, and new menu options above the cabin. Not only that, but the airline also bought a wide-body aircraft and launched a Business Class service to compete with its rival airline, Qantas.
