Public policy
- Every passenger must occupy the seat which is determined during check-in.
- Carry-on baggage must be put in luggage compartment or below the passenger’s seat.
- Cellphones and any electrical devices must be switched off or alter to flight mode, especially during take off and landing.
- Please tighten your seatbelt, fold the table, put your seat upright, and open the window during take off and landing.
- It is against the law and strictly prohibited to smoke anywhere in the aircraft during the flight.
Expectant Mother Policy
- Pregnant passengers are advised to consult a doctor before planning a trip.
- Passengers with gestational age under 32 weeks will be accepted to travel as regular passengers.
- Passengers with a gestational age of 32 weeks to under 36 weeks pregnant must provide a Medical Permit (MEDIF I and MEDIF II).
- Passengers with a gestational age of 36 weeks or 7 (seven) days approaching the due date are prohibited from joining the trip due to safety concerns.
- Special cases of pregnancy such as:
- Uncertain time of pregnancy or estimated date of delivery;
- Previously had twins or triplets;
- Experiencing complications that can arise during childbirth;
- Pregnant by artificial insemination.
- Mandatory to provide Medical Permit (MEDIF I and MEDIF II).
- MEDIF II can be replaced with sets of documents, each set containing one copy of the fetal examination book, ultrasound examination results, etc. by a specialist who states:
- Is it a single or multiple pregnancies
- Estimated week of pregnancy
- Estimated date of birth
- The pregnant passenger is in good health, and the pregnancy is proceeding normally, without any complications.
- Pregnant passengers are fit to travel.
- If the passenger's itinerary involves international sector travel, the passenger must prepare an additional set of documents in English certified by a notary office with legal status.
- The medical certificate must be issued within 7 days from the date of departure.
Specific Medical Condition Policy
- Passengers requiring medical clearance include:
- Passengers requiring oxygen service.
- Passengers requiring stretcher service.
- Passengers who bring their own syringes or needles on board.

Infants and Children Policy
- Infants under 7 days old, premature, or in serious medical condition are not allowed on board.
- Passengers can request free baby food; reservations must be made at least 24 hours before departure.
- Passengers can take strollers up to the boarding gate or check them in as checked baggage.
- Vietnam Airlines offers free baby bassinet service. This service is available for infants up to 2 years old with a maximum weight of 11 kg. Requests must be made at least 24 hours before departure. Please note that the bassinet is available in limited quantities.
- Child passengers are recommended to travel with adults.
- Child passengers must be in the same compartment as their guardian or considered Unaccompanied Minors.
Unaccompanied Minors
- Requests for Unaccompanied Minors service must be submitted at least 24 hours before departure.
- Requests for the Accompanying Cabin Crew Service must be made at least 3 days before the scheduled domestic flight or five days before the scheduled international flight.
- Parents or guardians must complete two types of forms before the flight.
- Carers who pick up at their destination must arrive at the airport at least 30 minutes before the child's arrival. The guardian must present the required documents for collection.
