Lao Airlines Features
Lao Airlines State Enterprise is Laos's national airline, headquartered in Vientiane and under the auspices of the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation. The airline operates domestic and international services to countries such as Cambodia, China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam. Its primary operating base is Wattay International Airport in Vientiane.
Lao Airlines was founded in 1976 as the national airline of Lao PDR. The airline was initially been known as the Civil Aviation Company and was formed from the merging of Royal Air Lao and Lao Air Lines airlines, which became Lao Aviation in 1979. Then in 2000, a joint venture with China Yunnan Airlines and the Lao government was formed, which re-nationalized Lao Aviation.
The Laos national carrier initially began operations with a mixed fleet of Western aircraft, including Douglas DC-3 and DC-4, which operate on international and domestic routes, as well as a helicopter fleet that allows access to more remote areas. In 1994, Lao Airlines added a fleet with a new generation of European turboprop aircraft produced by ATR (Avions de Transport Regional) in France.

Cabin Baggage

- Infant passengers cannot occupy a seat alone. If an infant needs to sit in a chair, then they must purchase a child ticket.
- Please consult the reservation staff for child and infant rates.
- Each adult can only bring one child or baby. If one adult is traveling with more than one infant under 2 (two) years, the passenger must purchase a seat for each infant.
Unaccompanied Minors
- Please visit the airline branch office or contact the Lao Airlines call center for complete information about Unaccompanied Minors.

Please arrive at the departure terminal at least 90 minutes before take-off for domestic flights and at least 2 hours for international flights.
Check-in counter would be closed 45 minutes before take-off.

Reschedule
- Reschedule fee will be waived

Reroute
- Submitting a re-route can be done while using the same airline

- If the reroute ticket price is greater than the EMD / Travel Voucher value given, the price difference will be paid by the passenger. If the ticket price is lower than the EMD / Travel Voucher given, then the price difference will not be given to the passenger.
